How the 20 split across rooms

Munty's guide and Pantreme's 6 Nov 2026 video chapters agree on the split: Playroom 4, Waiting Area 2, Backrooms 3, Poolrooms 2, School 2, Hotel 4, Office 3. The numbers run 1–4 in the Playroom, 5–6 in Waiting, 7–9 in the Backrooms, 10–11 in the Poolroom, 12–13 in the School, 14–17 in the Hotel, and 18–20 in the Office. First sparrow is the achievement for the first bird, separate from the set of 20.

Per-bird directions are a different matter. Nineteen of the twenty entries in the guide are pictures without a sentence I can repeat fairly. I am not inventing landmarks from a thumbnail. The location column stays blank unless a sentence exists. The pictures stay on the Steam guide; this page links it instead of copying it.

The two warnings that are actual sentences

Sparrow 4 is described as above ball pit 6, and the author suspects the pit has to be full first. That is a suspicion, so the prerequisite cell says so instead of stating a rule. In the Hotel, rooms move. The guide says the number plaque moves with the room, a checked room can be struck through in red, and which room holds a sparrow seems to change between files. The Hotel numbers identify the guide’s sequence rather than fixed room positions shared by every save. The twentieth bird was pointed out by a commenter named Socks on Munty's guide. A later write-up repeats that credit and is the same chain, not a second find.
