The first shift

Fill a pit before you spend everything on a key. The store says a full pit unlocks an ability and that balls are the currency. It also names a scoop and a flashlight among the tools, so light and a faster pickup come before a long walk into a new room. Leave time to get back when the lights start dropping. The store's own line is to stay in the light.

Pick Normal on a first file. Cozy removes the horror. Hardcore deletes the save if you are caught. That choice is explained on the mode page. A full clear in one video is close to six hours, so chasing every sparrow on night one is optional. The route that video used is on the walkthrough.

Controls and the November fixes

Patch notes mention a controller, a Y-axis invert, tool hotkeys 1, 2, and F, and E to interact. If the lights-out moment stutters, the same notes say to set Graphics, Lightmap Resolution, to Auto or Quarter. Crashes are directed to [email protected] with a Player.log. Stuck balls go to Reset balls on the pause menu after the 5 and 6 Nov patches. The ball pit page lists which rooms those notes named.

The demo's store categories include Save Anytime. The full game's category list does not. I am not copying the demo line onto the full game. Hotel doors move; Munty says to trust the room number rather than the corridor you remember. Upgrade names that are actually visible sit on the upgrades page.
